Detailing an Audi TT RS
Detailing Service provided: New Car Preparation + Glare Paint Sealant
One of the most common questions we are asked about detailing is whether it is worth it on a new car. "Afterall, won't the paint be in factory-fresh condition?"
Well certainly the car is unlikely to be covered in miles of traffic grime, but there are a lot of things that can happen to it after leaving the factory paint shop. Commonly the car may look clean when it is presented by the salesman but the paint is covered in contaminants making it rough to the touch. Worse still, the paint can have small marks or scratches from the many people who have touched it since it left the factory.
We have yet to find a dealership with the time, skills, equipment, products, processes or training to prepare a car to the standards that we work to - it's what we specialise in!
The quality of the finish on new cars varies substantially, but the condition of this New TT RS was quite typical - it looked very clean and the dealership had certainly taken some care, but it really didn't shine or feel like it should. Closer inspection revealed marring on every panel, some of it quite deep!
The customer had chosen a Glare sealant finish which helps deal with basic marring but we extended this with part of our new paint correction process which uses other Glare products and fine polishes. There was some actual deeper scratching on the bonnet so we provided even more extensive spot correction in this area using our full system and alll within the original quoted price!
The car really was transformed - the customer has since reported that the shine is often commented on by people. Please note that in the showroom photos below, the dark spots are reflections from the ceiling.
